Week of 2/25-3/1/19

Hello Panthers!
I truly hope that you had a spectacular weekend! I wouldn’t exactly say my weekend was productive, just because it seemed like I went from one thing to another both days without much down time. Maybe next weekend will be a little slower, but somehow I doubt it. Now that baseball season is kicking off, it just seems like extended long weeks. We made it through the short-long week and are now full speed ahead for the next three weeks until we have Spring Break. Typically, the time between Valentine’s Day and Spring Break proves to be the most stressful for whatever reason. I am hoping that this year we break the trend!

Academic UIL Contest
We concluded the Academic UIL Contest on Saturday. I was fortunate to join our students for a great day of competition with a different set of criteria. I didn’t see all the final results but will post next week. I know that we had several students place and a couple that were overall district winners, like my oral readers! Next year, I w…

Week of 2/18-2/22/19

Hello Panthers!
Well this weekend I was able to experience something that I haven’t experienced in awhile. I managed to get sunburned while wearing a coat, gloves, and stocking cap. Super-irritating! 80 degrees Friday and down to low 40’s. I am so tired of the rollercoaster! We continue to have students coming down with the flu. Definitely encourage your students to wash their hands frequently with soap and warm water and as silly as this sounds for middle schoolers, encourage them to not put their fingers in their nose, ears, eyes, or mouth. We did our best this weekend to clean around the school to help reduce the risk of germs and contamination. Here is to a short/long week!

8th Math STAAR Ready - Thurs. 2/21

Week of 2/11-2/15/19

Hello Panthers!
Welcome to the rollercoaster of crazy ups and downs in temperature. It certainly is doing a number on students and adults with flu, sinus infections, and colds. All I can say is Vitamin C and soap and water. We added a handwashing sink in the lower commons in the Fall. The sole purpose of doing so was to encourage students to wash their hands before eating. A reminder from parents certainly won’t hurt. This week will be interesting with Valentine’s Day. For middle school, that translates to increased drama and sugar. Several things happening this week, see below.

High School Transition Information - Last Chance - Monday, Feb. 11th - 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
It was great to see so many parents and students at Cedar Ridge on Thursday night. For those of you that still have questions, we will hosting a question and answer session Monday night in the Ridgeview Lecture Hall. Representatives from Cedar Ridge will be in attendance to answer questions as well. Hope to see you there!

Week of 2/4-2/8/19

Hello Panthers!
Well Super Bowl Sunday has come and gone and I am sure that nothing major has happened as a result of it, other than many people loading up on extra calories and being more tired on Monday. Guilty as charged. I heard there was a push to have a holiday the Monday after the Super Bowl. Not a bad idea, but I guess that just feeds the already out of control emphasis on football as something magical. I guess I can talk about the weather instead. Warm early in the week and then back to near freezing by the end of the week.

Family Survey
Okay Ridgeview. This is the last week! We are still about 200 behind the school in front of us for parent responses. We would love to have your input to help us improve! Our Ridgeview Annual Family Survey is mobile-friendly and short, it should take about 5 minutes to complete. Your input is valuable and used to plan for improvement and implement new opportunities for your student.
