Week of 4/30 - 5/4/18

Hello Panthers! I hope you enjoyed the weekend! We continue the march to the end of the school year. 8th grade scores for STAAR Reading and Math are expected and we will be notifying students as soon as possible about their score. Next week will be the Algebra EOC on May 8th. We finish the STAAR season the week of May 14th-May 18th. As I have said in the past, the best advice that I can give students for success is to relax. There should be nothing new on STAAR that has not been covered over the course of the year. We feel Ridgeview students will be well prepared and look forward to seeing their hard work pay off in the form of high scores.
XSTREAM Night and SPIRIT NIGHT XSTREAM Night was awesome! Thank you to all that came out and supported students and teachers as they showcased the amazing talent we have on campus. We are looking forward to making next year and even bigger event! Spirit Night at Chipotle was also a big success! Thank you for supporting Ridgeview! There will be a few mo…

Week of 4/23-4/27/18

Hello Panthers! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Have you ever had one of those weekends where you just want a little time for yourself and it just doesn’t happen? Sometimes life just keeps you busy! I feel like that is what the next five weeks are going to be like around school. It is important to take the time you need as a parent to breathe so that you are able to be at your best when your teen needs you.

Spirit Night at Chipotle - Tuesday April 24th - 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. Spirit Night is happening on Tuesday. Chipotle is having an awesome partnership with RMS. Please join us at Chipotle, the Stonehill location on Tuesday, April 24 from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m.  Let the cashier know you are supporting RMS and 50% of your meal will go back to RMS. As a special incentive, those that participate in this spirit night will have the opportunity to place their name in a raffle to win one of (2) $25 Chipotle gift certificates.  We look forward to seeing you there!
5th Grade Visits We will have 5th gra…

Week of 4/16 - 4/20/18

Hello Panthers! I hope you are ready for another exciting week! This past week was a little bit of a drain on everyone I am sure, students, teachers, and parents. The good news is that the next round of testing is almost a month away. This allows us to concentrate on finishing strong on our curriculum and still do some last minute prep to boost scores for students.

Weekend Events Lauren Strong Fun Run Friday night the weather turned out perfect for the 3rd Annual Lauren Strong Fun Run! It worked out perfect as we had bad weather before and really bad weather later, but for three hours we had perfect weather. Very fitting! What a wonderful and inspiring event! If is hard to believe that it has been three years. So proud of the community for their efforts with Lauren Strong and Team Brock! A special thank you to all the vendors that joined us as well. Just an awesome show of support going towards finding a cure for childhood cancer. I am super thankful to be a participant and witness to th…

Week of 4/9 - 4/13/18

Hello Panthers! Wouldn’t be an ordinary Monday without me commenting on crazy weather over the weekend. How about that drop of 30 + degrees on Saturday. Just crazy! This week is an opportunity for students to strut their academic knowledge as 7th and 8th graders take STAAR. I have tried to update the calendar as much as possible until the end of the year.

Free Breakfast during STAAR Testing and Other STAAR Info I just want to remind you that breakfast is free for all students on STAAR testing days. Stop by the cafeteria Tues or Weds morning and fuel up for the day! Speaking of STAAR, this is just a reminder that we will be a closed campus to visitors and there will be no deliveries while testing is taking place. Students should be in dress code on Tuesday and Wednesday. This means no pajamas, slippers, or blankets! Also, we encourage a healthy snack these days. However, students testing will not be permitted to have messy snacks such as Cheetos, chocolate, or fruit that can cause a mess.…

Week of 4/2 - 4/6/18

Hello Panthers! I hope you had a great weekend and were able to spend some time with family! We had pretty great weather if you are not an allergy sufferer. I hear that possible rain and a cold front are on the way this week. This week will be pretty calm as we gear up for the first round of testing next week. If you are a track and field enthusiast, I encourage you to check out the Panthers on Weds and Thurs at RRHS at the district track meet. We have been doing really well this year and I expect that we will be competitive this week as well.

Ridgeview Teaming with NASA We received some great news over the weekend! Ridgeview had four teams selected for the NASA Cubes in Space program! The competition was centered on submitting ideas for experiments to be carried out in space aboard a NASA rocket. Here are the five teams selected along with their experiment title: The Reaction from Different Chewing Gum under the Forces Experienced During Spaceflight - Ojas P. and Max W. The effects of sp…
