Week of 11/27 - 12/1/17

Hello Panthers!
I hope you had a restful week with your student! I don’t know why, but it always seems like when I get to Saturday and Sunday after a break that I start getting that knot in my stomach, like I have so much to do before Monday. Needless to say, I didn’t think too much about school. I concentrated on getting things done around the house that had been neglected and spent time with family and friends. I figure work will be there. Americans are notorious for working ourselves to the grave instead of taking time to relax. I honestly think we would be much more productive with a shorter work week!

This week will be getting back into the swing of things. We only have four weeks left until we are out for the winter break and it is the end of the semester! I need for students to buckle down and make it productive. We will be having mid-terms Mon - Weds., December 18 - December 20.

Week of 11/13 - 11/17/17

Hello Panthers! Another six weeks is in the books! This year is unfortunately flying by rapidly. Maybe the kids have a different take on that. Just a reminder that next week we will not have school as we have a break during the week of Thanksgiving. I hope this gives you time to spend with family and friends and re-energize if you are needing it.

Veterans Day Parade a Success! Thank you to everyone that helped out with our Veterans Day celebration! We had an amazing turnout and I want to give special thanks to PTA and our Watchdogs for their help in making the morning go smooth and providing breakfast for the veterans! I would also like to thank the choir, orchestra and band for making the morning special. Finally, thanks to all our staff members who worked on this celebration for weeks preparing. As I told the veterans, we celebrate them on this day, but truly they (and their family) should be celebrated each and every day for the willingness to sacrifice for our freedoms!

Week of 11/6 - 11/10/17

Hello Panthers! This was a tough week for me, including the weekend. We have had some tragedy impact our Ridgeview family with teachers and students being sick and hospitalized as well as the loss of loved ones, in particular three fathers. It is especially difficult as we get into the holiday season. In times like this, we are human, we hurt, we cry, and we hug, just like family. The news about the church shooting is also particularly disturbing as I read that the three most deadly shooting sprees have all taken place in the last year. I hope that there is more joy coming our way this week than sadness! It is times like this that you really have to look at your core for who you are, what you stand for,  what you believe in, and what action you are willing to take.

Fine Arts On a brighter note, I do know that I am inspired by our awesome fine arts students and teachers. Saturday we had three different groups hard at work. Theater was practicing for their upcoming play, art club was begi…
