Week of 10/30 - 11/3/17

Hello Panthers! What can I say! Baseball season wears me out! What a crazy game! I just need them to start in the afternoon instead of so late at night. So happy for the Astros and city of Houston. Just doesn’t help me wake up bright-eyed in the morning. How about the weather? Just as crazy! Not really liking the cold weather Saturday, but Sunday turned out great! This week will not be as busy as the last two, but still some things going on that you need to know about.
International Week and Red Ribbon Week Successful! I want to thank everyone that worked on these events from last week! I hope the students enjoyed the different events and were able to learn some things or be exposed to new information. I would also like to thank all of our presenters that performed or spoke to students.
Big weekend for Fine Arts Once again Ridgeview Fine Arts showed up! This past weekend started with our Shakespeare performances from our theater troupe. They are preparing for the upcoming Renaissance Festi…

Week of 10/23 - 10/27/17

Hello Panthers! I hope you had an amazing weekend and enjoyed the cooler weather. I was almost able to pull off the perfect sports weekend, but came up just short in a few games. Overall, it was a great weekend and I think it started with a great Trunk or Treat! This was our second year to do a Trunk or Treat and it was very well attended. I have no official count, but numbers appeared to be over 300 and over 30 community vendors and parents that participated with a trunk or booth or activity. I love the way the community came together!

This week is another busy week. Please make sure you look at all the activities.

International week /Red Ribbon Week: October 23rd through October 27th will be International Week along with Red Ribbon Week! It will be a busy week full of lots of activities! Your child will be learning about other countries, touring a display of international clothing items and artifacts including coins from many cultures. This is in combination with different activities f…

Week of 10/16 - 10/20/17

Hello Panthers! Guess what? I hope you had a wonderful weekend! You knew that was coming! Either that or you thought I was going to use a phrase starting with chicken and rhyming with what:) I loved the cooler weather on Sunday. Looks like it will be going up and down this week. Hopefully it will be a little easier to stay outside longer, at least it will if the mosquitos go away. We are getting ready for an extremely busy next two weeks. Please check out the “Upcoming Events” and “Other News to Know” to stay on top of everything.
6th Grade Dance,  huge success! A special thanks to all the volunteers that made the 6th grade dance a successful event last Friday. This includes our wonderful PTA, WatchDogs, DJ Paul Turner, and our WEB Leaders! We had a great turnout and all the students seemed to have a blast.

Week of 10/9 - 10/13/17

Hello Panthers! I hope you had a great weekend + extra. I could have used a day off, but it was nice to get caught up on things yesterday. We are hard at work today, but will see your students bright and early tomorrow! A few new items are included this week, so scan carefully! I know most of you just rush to the bottom for words of wisdom to get through the week and typically skip the other important things - ha! I have also included things on the horizon, but not in the current week in "Other News to Know."
Flu Shots Permission forms went home last week.  Please ask your student for the form if you have not received it yet.  Please make every effort to return the form by Friday, October 13 to ensure we have enough vaccine for our students. Please contact Joanne Johnson with any questions.

New Raptor Software and Procedures Our Raptor software system was updated on Monday 10/9.  Since it is new software, all ID’s will need to be re-scanned into the system. Unfortunately, It does…

Week of 10/2-10/6/17

Hello Panthers! Beautiful weekend weather, sad to hear it might rain again this week. Just a reminder that Monday night is the Festival of Bands at Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex. Football games will be pushed to Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Hard to believe that the first six weeks is over. It seems like we just began. Couple of important items. Students will need to check their email this week.
District Survey on Technology We are partnering with BrightBytes, an educational data analytics company, in order to learn more about our students’ school and home technology use for learning. We are reaching out to ask you to take part in our questionnaire.
Your participation is essential in helping us form a more complete picture of  technology use for learning in our students’ lives. Please know that all of your responses will remain anonymous to protect your privacy and they will help your child's school choose the right technology for their classrooms. It will take approximately 5 minut…
